The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Pasikuda public beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 01st January 2023.
A 33-year-old male was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at lifesaving post Pasikuda whilst drowning at sea.
The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to bring back hope for the drowning person at the beginning of the new year despite the heavy current in the area.
To date, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued a total of 1806 invaluable lives including 779 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
