The Special Task Force (STF) successfully conducted a self-defence training program for Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel at the Coast Guard Headquarters in Mirissa from 21st April to 04th May 2025.
A total of 20 Coast Guard personnel, including 04 officers and 02 women sailors actively participated in the intensive training sessions to enhance their self-confidence, physical preparedness, and defensive capabilities during operational deployments. Participants benefited from a blend of theoretical instruction and rigorous physical drills, which helped strengthen their reflexes, discipline, and confidence in high-pressure environments. The course also emphasized teamwork, quick decision-making, and adaptability in dynamic threat scenarios. Qualified instructors from the STF shared their expertise and knowledge in tactical defence techniques, disarmament procedures, and situational awareness, contributing to the overall professional development of the Coast Guard personnel.
This initiative underscores the shared commitment of national security agencies to continuously elevate the standards of training and preparedness in safeguarding Sri Lanka’s maritime domain.
