Based on Intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a special search operation was conducted in coordination with officers of the Special Task Force, Welipenna. During the operation, three (03) suspects were arrested on 23rd October 2025, in possession of two (02) parcels containing a total of 1 Kilogram and 0885 grams of a narcotic substance suspected to be Hashish, which had been prepared for sale.
Furthermore, the arrested suspects along with the two (02) parcels of the suspected narcotic substance, were handed over to the Beruwala Police Station for further investigations and necessary legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද බුද්ධි තොරතුරකට අනුව, වැලිපැන්න විශේෂ කාර්ය බලකා කදවුරේ නිලධාරීන් සමඟ එක්ව සිදුකල විශේෂ ඒකාබද්ධ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදී විකිණීම සඳහා සූදානම් කර තිබූ හශීෂ් බවට සැක කෙරෙන මත්ද්රව්ය කිලෝග්රෑම් 1 ග්රෑම් 885 ක බරින් යුත් සැකකෙරෙන ආසන්න වශයෙන් කිලෝග්රෑම් 1 ග්රෑම් 885 ක බරින් යුත් පාර්සල් දෙකක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් තිදෙනෙකු, 2025 ඔක්තෝබර් මස 23 වන දින පයාගල ප්රදේශයේදී වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලදී.
තවද, මෙම අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් සහ මත්ද්රව්ය පාර්සල් දෙක (02) වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන සහ ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සදහා බේරුවල පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත භාරදීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
