TWO PERSONS NABBED FOR ILLEGAL LOBSTER HARVESTING.

Based on information received by the Coast Guard personnel in Balapitiya, together with fisheries inspectors of the area two individuals who were engaged illegal harvesting sea lobsters were arrested.

Furthermore, according to existing laws and regulations fishing activities related to sea lobsters are prohibited during the months of February, September, and October.

The arrested individuals and the sea lobsters were handed over to the Balapitiya Fisheries Inspector for further investigation and onward legal proceedings.
