SEVEN ARRESTED WITH THRESHER SHARK FINS.
A special search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard at the Galle Harbour on 29th October 2025 led to the arrest of seven (07) individuals along with 5 Kilograms and 700 grams of illegally harvested dried Thresher shark fins concealed inside a multiday fishing vessel.
The suspects, along with the seized fishing vessel, were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector’s Office in Galle for further investigations and legal proceedings.
කස මෝර වරල් කිලෝග්රෑම් 05 කට අධික ප්රමාණයක් සමග පුද්ගලයින් හත්(07)දෙනෙකු ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අත්අඩංගුවට.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් 2025 ඔක්තෝබර් මස 29 වන දින ගාලු වරායේ සිදු කළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදී බහු දින ධීවර යාත්රාවක් තුල සඟවා තිබූ නීතිවිරෝධී ලෙස අල්ලන ලද කස මෝර වරල් කිලෝග්රෑම් 05 ග්රෑම් 700 ක ප්රමාණයක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයින් හත් (07) දෙනකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
ඒ අනුව, අත් අඩංගුවට ගත් එම ධීවරයන් හත් (07) දෙනා සහ ධීවර යාත්රාව ඉදිරි විමර්ශන සහ නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා ගාල්ල ධීවර පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
