THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED WITH 1,500 FOREIGN CIGARETTES BY COAST GUARD
Coast Guard personnel, with the assistance of Police and the Police Special Task Force, conducted a series of special search operations in the areas of Kataragama, Mirissa and Wellamadama from 01st to 04th November 2025 and arrested three (03) suspects in possession of 1,500 foreign cigarettes.
The arrested suspects, along with the seized cigarettes, were handed over to the Tissamaharama, Weligama, and Matara Police Stations for further investigations and onward legal proceedings.
විදේශීය දුම්වැටි 1500 ක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් තිදෙනෙකු (03) ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අත්අඩංගුවට
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, පොලීසිය සහ පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය බළකාය හා එක්ව 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 01 සිට 04 වන දින දක්වා කතරගම, මිරිස්ස සහ වැල්ලමඩම යන ප්රදේශවල සිදුකල විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුම් මගින් විදේශීය රටවල නිශ්පාදිත නීති විරෝධී ලෙස අලෙවි කිරීම සඳහා සූදානම්කර තිබූ දුම්වැටි 1500ක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් තිදෙනෙකු (03) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
මෙම මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් අතඅඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් සහ දුම්වැටි වැඩිදුර විමර්ශණය හා ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා තිස්සමාහාරාමය, වැලිගම සහ මාතර පොලිස් ස්ථානයන් වෙත භාර දිමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
