FOURTEEN ARRESTED WITH ILLEGAL SHARK DRY FISH AND FINS
A special search operations conducted by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard at the Galle fishery harbour on 06th November 2025 led to the arrest of fourteen (14) individuals along with 38 Kilograms of illegally harvested dry fish and 02 Kilograms of dried fins concealed inside two (02) multiday fishing vessels.
The suspects, along with the seized dry fish and fins, two fishing vessels and nets, were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector’s Office in Galle for further investigations and legal proceedings.

ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 06 වන දින ගාල්ල ධීවර වරායේ සිදු කළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් බහු දින ධීවර යාත්රා දෙකක් (02) තුල සඟවා තිබූ නීතිවිරෝධී මෝර කරවල කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 38ක්, මොර වරල් කිලෝග්රෑම් 02 ක් සහ නිති විරෝධි දැල් ආම්පන්න ද සමඟ පුද්ගලයින් දාහතර (14) දෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
ඒ අනුව, අත් අඩංගුවට ගත් එම ධීවරයන් දාහතර (14) දෙනා, මෝර කරවල හා වරල් තොගය, ධීවර යාත්රා දෙක සහ දැල් ආම්පන්න ඉදිරි විමර්ශන සහ නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා ගාල්ල ධීවර පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
