OVER 494 KILOGRAMS OF KENDU LEAVES ARRESTED BY COAST GUARD
Coast Guard personnel with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy and the Police Special Task Force, during a joint operation in Deduru Oya Moya area in Chilaw, arrested 494 kilograms and 950 grams of Kendu leaves concealed in 13 bundles and smuggled into the country using a dinghy boat on 10th November 2025.
The arrested stock of Kendu leaves along with the dinghy boat were handed over to Chilaw Police for further investigations and legal actions.

ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, නාවික හමුදාව හා පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය්ය බළකාය එක්ව 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 10 වන දින හලාවත, දැදුරු ඔය මෝය ප්රදේශයේ සිදුකල එකාබද්ධ මෙහෙයුමකදි නීති විරෝධී ලෙස උර 13ක අසුරා ඩිංගි යාත්රාවක් තුල සඟවා රට තුලට රැගෙන ඒමට උත්සහකල බීඩී කොළ කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 494 ග්රෑම් 950 ක තොගයක් සහ එම ඩිංගි යාත්රාව (01) මෙලෙස අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද බීඩි කොළ තොගය සහ ඩිංගි යාත්රාව ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා හලාවත පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත භාර දිමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
