FIVE TOURISTS RESCUED FROM DROWNING

The Coast Guard lifesavers promptly responded and managed to rescue five tourists, including four Russian nationals, who were in danger of drowning in the seas off Mount Lavinia, Balapitiya and Bentota between 5^th to 13^rd November 2025.

The Coast Guard lifesavers continue to emphasize the importance of adhering to safety guidelines while engaging in recreational sea activities to ensure the safety of both local and foreign visitors.

Since the establishment of life saving activities in 2009, over 2500 lives have been saved by the Coast Guard lifesavers, including 1145 foreigners as of today.
