THIRTEEN ARRESTED WITH ILLEGAL SHARK FISH, DRIED FISH AND FINS
During special search operations conducted by the Coast Guard personnel at the Galle fishery harbour on 15th November 2025 led to the arrest of thirteen (13) fishermen along with 6.5 kg of illegal shark fins, 20.15 kg dried shark fish along with 700 grams of dried fins concealed inside two (02) multiday fishing vessels.
The suspects, along with the arrested items and two fishing vessels were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector’s Office in Galle for further legal proceedings.

ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 15 වන දින ගාලු වරායේ සිදු කළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් බහු දින ධීවර යාත්රා දෙකක් තුල සඟවා තිබූ නීතිවිරෝධී ලෙස අල්ලන ලද මෝර මසුන් කිලෝග්රෑම් 06 ග්රෑම් 500 ක්, මෝර කරවල කිලෝග්රෑම් 20 ග්රෑම් 150 ක් සහ මෝර වරල් ග්රෑම් 700 ක ප්රමාණයක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයින් දහතුන් (13) දෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
ඒ අනුව, අත් අඩංගුවට ගත් එම ධීවරයන් දහතුන් (13) දෙනා, මෝර මසුන්, කරවල සහ ධීවර යාත්රා දෙක ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා ගාල්ල ධීවර පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
