SIX LOCAL TOURISTS RESCUED FROM DROWNING
The Coast Guard lifesavers promptly responded and managed to rescue six (06) Sri Lanka tourists who were in danger of drowning in the seas off Bentota on 15th November 2025.
The Coast Guard lifesavers continue to emphasize the importance of adhering to safety guidelines while engaging in recreational sea activities to ensure the safety of both local and foreign visitors.
Since the establishment of life saving activities in 2009, over 2500 lives have been saved by the Coast Guard lifesavers, including 1375 Sri Lankans as of today.
මුහුදේ ගිලිමට ගිය ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන් හය දෙනෙකු (06) වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව බේරා ගනී
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ජීවිතාරක්ෂක නිලධාරීන් විසින් 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 15 වන දින බෙන්තොට මුහුදේ සිදුකල ජීවිතාරක්ෂක මෙහෙයුමක් මඟින් වයස අවුරුදු 25 ත් 27 ත් අතර, වයසේ පසුවන කාන්තාවන් හතරක්ද ඇතුළුව ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන් හය දෙනෙකු (06) නිරුපද්රිතව බේරාගෙන කඩිනමින් ගොඩබිමට රැගෙන ඒමට කටයුතු කරන ලදි.
තවද, 2009 වර්ෂයේ වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පිහිටුවීමෙන් අනතුරුව අද දක්වා ජිවිත 2500 ට අධික ප්රමාණයක් බේරාගැනීමට කටයුතු කර ඇති අතර, ඉන් 1375 ක් ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන් වේ.
