COAST GUARD CONDUCTS LIFESAVING AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard, in collaboration with the Disaster Management Coordinating center Matara, conducted a comprehensive theoretical and practical awareness programme on life-saving techniques for individuals at risk of drowning.
The programme was held on 20th and 21st November 2025 at the Lenabatuwa Tank premises in Kamburupitiya, Matara with the participation of 63 personnel, including Economic Development Officers, Grama Niladhari attached to the Kamburupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division, and civilians from the area.
This initiative was aimed at enhancing community preparedness and strengthening local emergency response capabilities.

ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, මාතර ආපදා කළමනාකරණ සම්බන්ධීකරන ඒකකය හා එක්ව කඹූරුපිටිය ප්රාදේශිය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශයට අයත් ආර්ථික සංවර්ධන නිලධාරීන්, ග්රාම සංවර්ධන නිලධාරීන් සහ සිවිල් පුද්ගලයන් 63 දෙනෙකු සඳහා දියේ ගිලීමෙන් අනතුරයට පත් පුද්ගලයන්ගේ දිවි බේරාගන්නා ආකාරය සම්බන්ධව න්යායාත්මක සහ ප්රායෝගික වැඩ මුළුවක් 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 20 සහ 21 යන දෙදින තුල මාතර, කඹුරුපිටිය, ලේනබටුව වැව පරිශ්රයේදී සාර්ථකව පැවැත්වීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
