COAST GUARD RUSHES AID TO FLOOD VICTIMS
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard, responding to the adverse weather conditions affecting the island due to the ‘Ditwah’ cyclone has been continuously conducting relief operations with effect from 28th November 2025 in the areas of Chilaw, Naththandiya, Ranala and Kaduwela which have been impacted by heavy rainfall.
During these operations, Coast Guard personnel recued 36 individuals, distributed essential assistance to 217 disaster affected and vulnerable individuals, while uninterrupted supplies of food and drinking water have been delivered to 1,706 personnel.

වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, ‘දිත්වා’ සුළි කුණාටුව හේතුවෙන් දිවයිනට බලපා ඇති අයහපත් කාලගුණික තත්වය මත ඇදහැලෙන අධික වැසි හේතුවෙන් හලාවත නාත්තන්ඩිය, රනාල සහ කඩුවෙල යන ප්රදේශ ආවරණය වන පරිදි 2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 28 වන දින සිට සිදුකල සහන මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් ආපදාවට පත්ව අවදානමට ලක්ව සිටි පුද්ගලයන් 36 දෙනෙකුගේ දිවි බේරා ගැනීමටත් පුද්ගලයින් 217 දෙනෙකු වෙත අවශ්ය සහන සැලසිම මෙන්ම පුද්ගලයන් 1706 දෙනෙකු සඳහා අවශ්ය ආහාරපාන හා පානීය ජලය සැපයීම අඛණ්ඩව සිදුකරමින් සිටියි.
ඒ අනුව, ආපදාවට පත් ජනතාව ඉන් මුදා ගෙන අවශ්ය සහන සැලසිම ගංවතුර උවදුර පහව යනතෙක් අඛණ්ඩව සිදුකිරීම සඳහා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තු ආපදා සහන කණ්ඩායම් සූදානමින් සිටි.
