Over four (04) Kilograms of Crystal Methamphetamine(ICE) were found during a special search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard on the Light House Island, Beruwala on 02nd December 2025.
The gross street value of Crystal Methamphetamine taken into custody in this operation is believed to be over sixty eight (68) Million.
The seized drugs were handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau, Colombo for further investigations.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද විශේෂ තොරතුරකට අනුව 2025 දෙසැම්බර් මස 02 වන දින බේරුවල, ප්රදීපාගාර දූපතේ සිදුකල විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදි ලඳු කැලෑවක් තුල සඟවා තිබූ අයිස් මත්ද්රව්ය කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 4යි ග්රෑම් 260 ක තොගයක් සොයා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
මෙම මෙහෙයුම මඟින් භාරයට ගන්නා ලද අයිස් මත්ද්රව්ය තොගයේ දළ වීථි වටිනාකම රුපියල් මිලියන 68කට අධික වෙතැයි විශ්වාස කෙරේ.
තවද, මෙම මෙහෙයුම මඟින් භාරයට ගන්නා ලද මත් ද්රව්ය වැඩිදුර විමර්ශණය හා ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා කොළඹ මත්ද්රව්ය නාශක කාර්යංශය වෙත භාර දිමට කටයුතු කරන ලදි.
