Based on intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard two (02) suspects were arrested at Panadura town in possession of 3200 foreign cigarettes on 04th January 2026
The above arrest was made during a special search operation conducted in coordination with officers of the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau, Mount Lavinia.
The arrested persons along with the seized cigarettes were handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police for further investigation and onward legal action.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද විශේෂ තොරතුරකට අනුව ගල්කිස්ස කොට්ඨාස අපරාධ විමර්ශණ ඒකකය හා එක්ව 2026 ජනවාරි 04 වන දින සවස් කාලයේ පානදුර නගරයේ සිදුකල විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමක් මඟින් නීතිවිරෝධී ලෙස අලවි කිරීම සඳහා රැගෙන යමින් තිබූ විදේශීය දුම්වැටි 3200ක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
මෙම අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් සහ දුම්වැටි තොගය වැඩිදුර විමර්ශනය හා ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා ගල්කිස්ස පොලිසිය වෙත භාර දීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
