The Sri Lanka Coast Guard, with the assistance of Hambantota Fisheries Inspector, conducted a special search operation at Pallemalala in Tissamaharama area and arrested two (02) individuals in possession of 20 kilograms of fish species “Thambuwa” (cephalopholis sonnerati) on 05th January 2026.
The arrest was made in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2014/4 dated 11th April 2017.
The suspects, along with the seized Thambuwa fish and a lorry were handed over to the Hambantota Fisheries Inspector’s Office for further legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, හම්බන්තොට ධීවර පරීක්ෂක හා එක්ව 2026 ජනවාරි මස 05 වන දින තිස්සමහාරාම, පල්ලෙමලල ප්රදේශයේ සිදු කළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදී වර්ෂ 2017 අප්රේල් මස 11 වන දිනැති අංක 2014/4 දරන අති විශේෂ ගැසට් පත්රයේ විධිවිධාන උල්ලංඝණය කරමින් නීති විරෝධි ලෙස අල්ලන ලද “තඹුවා” (cephalopholis sonnerati) මසුන් කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 20ක් ප්රවාහනය සඳහා යොදා ගත් ලොරි රථය සමඟ සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
ඒ අනුව, අත් අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනා (02) , මත්ස්ය තොගය සහ ලොරි රථය ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා හම්බන්තොට ධීවර පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීම සිදු කෙරිණි. .
