The Sri Lanka Coast Guard participated in the 17th edition of the DOSTI trilateral maritime exercise held in Male, Maldives from 17th to 19th January 2026.
SLNS Suranimila took part in the Dosti exercise with a team of Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel onboard. Two Indian Coast Guard ships, Dornier aircraft and helicopters along with Maldivian Coast Guard ships actively took part in the exercise which took place off the seas of Male.
The biennial trilateral maritime exercise aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination, sharing experience, and improving interoperability among the Coast Guards of India, Maldives, and Sri Lanka.
This year’s exercise focused on marine oil spills, medical evacuation, Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS), counter piracy, and Search and Rescue exercises followed by a sail and a fly past.
TThe acting Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph attended the exercise.
On the sidelines of the exercise Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph held bilateral discussions with the Commandant Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard, Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem and the Chief of Defence Force of the Maldives National Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy.
ඉන්දියානු සාගර කාළාපය තුල සමුද්රීය ආරක්ෂක සහයෝගීතාවය වර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, ඉන්දීය වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සහ මාලදිවයින් ජාතික ආරක්ෂක බලකායේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් 2026 ජනවාරි මස 17 වන දින සිට 19 වන දින දක්වා මාලදිවයින් මුහුදු තීරයේදී පැවති ‘EX – DOSTI – XVII’ ත්රෛයිපාර්ශවික වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක නාවික අභ්යාසය සාර්ථකව නිමාවට පත්විය.
ඉන්දියාව, මාලදිවයින සහ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක සාමාජිකයින් අතර සහයෝගීතාව ගොඩනැඟීම, මිත්රත්වය තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීම, අන්නෝන්ය මෙහෙයුම් හැකියාව වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම සහ අන්තර් ක්රියාකාරීත්වය වර්ධනය කිරීම අරමුණු කරගනිමින්, ‘EX – DOSTI – XVII’ ත්රෛයිපාර්ශවීය නාවික අභ්යාසය 2026 ජනවාරි මස 17 වන දින සිට 19 වන දින දක්වා මාලදිවයින් මුහුදු තීරය කේන්ද්ර කර ගනිමින් පැවැත්විණි.
මෙම අභ්යාසය සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ කණ්ඩායම සමඟ ශ්රී ලංකා නාවික නෞකා SURANIMILA නෞකාවද, ඉන්දීය වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව නියෝජනය කරමින් ඉන්දීය වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක නෞකාවන් වන ‘VAJRA’ හා ‘ATULYA’ නෞකාවන්, DORNIER සමුද්රීය නිරීක්ෂණ ගුවන් යානා සහ හෙලිකොප්ටර් යානා මෙන්ම මාලදිවයින් ජාතික ආරක්ෂක හමුදාව නියෝජනය කරමින් MCGS GHAZEE සහ HURAVEE මාලදිවයින් වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක නෞකා ද සහභාගී විය.
ඒ අනුව, මෙම ත්රෛයිපාර්ශවික නාවික අභ්යාසය තුළදී තුවාලකරුවන් ප්රතිකාර සඳහා ඉවත්කිරීම (Medical Evacuation), යාත්රාවන් වෙත ප්රවිශ්ඨවීම, සෝදිසි කිරීම සහ අත්පත් කරගැනීමේ හා මුහුදු මංකොල්ල මැඩපැවැත්වීමේ අභ්යාස (Visit Board Search & Seizure & Piracy), සෙවීම් හා මුදවා ගැනීමේ අභ්යාස (Search and Rescue Drill), යුද නෞකා අතර ආචාර සමාචාර කිරීම (Steam Past) ඇතුළු අභ්යාසයන් සාර්ථකව සිදු කෙරිණි.
මෙම අභ්යාසය සඳහා සහභාගී වූ ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අධ්යක්ෂ ජෙනරාල් රියර් අද්මිරාල් රොහාන් ජෝසෆ් සහ ඉන්දීය වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අධ්යක්ෂ ජෙනරාල් පරමේශ් සිවමනි මහතා පිළිගැනීම මාලදිවයින් ජාතික ආරක්ෂක බලමුලුවේ ආඥාපති බ්රිගේඩියර් ජෙනරාල් මොහමඩ් සලීම් මහතා විසින් සිදු කෙරිණි.
