Six (06) fishermen were arrested along with 19.4 Kg of dry Shark fish and fins by the Coast Guard during a special operation conducted at the Dikovita fishery harbour on 03rd February 2026.
The suspects along with the seized dry shark fish, fins and fishing vessel were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector’s office in Dikovita for further investigations and legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් 2026 පෙබරවාරි මස 03 වන දින දික්ඕවිට ධීවර වරායේ සිදු කළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදි මෙරට බහු දින ධීවර යාත්රාවක් තුල සඟවා තිබූ නීතිවිරෝධී ලෙස අල්ලන ලද මෝර කරවල සහ වරල් කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 19 ග්රෑම් 400ක පමණ තොගයක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයින් හය (06) දෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
ඒ අනුව, අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් එම ධීවරයන් හය (06) දෙනා, මෝර කරවල, වරල් තොගය හා ධීවර යාත්රාව ඉදිරි විමර්ශන සහ නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා දික්ඕවිට ධීවර පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
