Based on intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a special search operation was conducted at Dikovita fisheries harbour in coordination with officers of the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau, Peliyagoda and arrested two (02) persons along with approximately 50 g 620 mg of Kerala Cannabis, on 06th February 2026.
The SLCG operates seventeen (17) lifesaving posts along key tourist attracting beaches around the country and lifesaving rescue missions carried out in the seas off Mount Lavinia, Bentota, Balapitiya, Mirissa and Nilaweli, the Coast Guard lifesavers were able to rescue fifteen (15) foreign nationals and six (06) local tourists from drowning.
Arrested suspects along with Kerala Cannabis were handed over to the Wattala Police Station for further investigations and legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද බුද්ධි තොරතුකට අනුව පෑලියගොඩ පොලිස් අපරාධ කොට්ඨාස විමර්ශණ ඒකකයේ නිලධාරීන් හා එක්ව 2026 පෙබරවාරි මස 06 වන දින දික්ඕවිට, ධීවර වරායේ සිදුකල විශේෂ ඒකාබද්ධ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදි අලෙවි කිරීම සඳහා සූදානම්කර තිබූ කේරළ ගංජා ග්රෑම් 50යි මිලි ග්රෑම් 620ක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
මෙම මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද සැකකරු සහ මත් ද්රව්ය වැඩිදුර විමර්ශණය හා ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා වත්තල පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත භාර දිමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
