Based on naval intelligence, a combined search operation was conducted by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard and the Navy, off Kankasanthurai seas and arrested two (02) suspects along with 6.865 kg of gold concealed in a fishing boat on 09th March 2026.
The arrested suspects, along with 6.865 kg of gold and the fishing boat were handed over to the Customs Preventive Office in Kankesanthurai for further investigations and legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදාවට ලද බුද්ධි තොරතුරකට අනුව වෙරළ ආරකෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව හා නාවික හමුදාව එක්ව 2026 මාර්තු මස 09 වන දින කන්කසන්තුරයට වයඹ දෙසින් වූ මුහුදේ සිදුකල විශේෂ මෙහෙයුමකදී ඩිංගි යාත්රාවක් තුල සූක්ෂම ලෙස සඟවා ප්රවාහනය කරමින් තිබූ රත්තරන් කිලෝග්රෑම් 6.865 ක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයන් දෙදෙනෙකු සහ ඩිංගි යාත්රාවක් අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
අත්අඩංගුවටගත් රත්තරන් කිලෝග්රෑම් 6.865, සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනා හා ඩිංගි යාත්රාව වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන සහ ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා කන්කසන්තුරය රේගු නිවාරණ කාර්යාලය වෙත භාරදීමට කටයුතු කරන ලදී.
