Based on intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a special operation was conducted in Arachchikattuwa area in Chilaw in coordination with the Arachchikattuwa Police and arrested two (02) persons with 21g 590mg of Heroin, 39g 320mg of Crystal Methamphetamine (Ice), Pregabalin capsules, Rupees two hundred thousand (Rs.200,000.00) and a car today (10th April 2026).
The street value of the arrested drugs estimated to be over 13 lakh.
Arrested personnel along with apprehended items were handed over to the Arachchikattuwa Police for further Investigations and legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද තොරතුරකට අනුව ආරච්චිකට්ටුව පොලීසිය හා එක්ව හලාවත ආරච්චිකට්ටුව ප්රදේශයේ අද (2026 අප්රේල් මස 10) දින සිදුකල විශේෂ මෙහෙයුමකදි හෙරොයින් ග්රෑම් 21 මිලි ග්රෑම් 590 , අයිස් මත්ද්රව්ය ග්රෑම් 39 මිලි ග්රෑම් 320, මත් පෙති, රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 02ක් වටිනා මුදල් නෝට්ටු සහ මෝටර් රථයක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට හැකිවිය.
මෙම මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද මත්ද්රව්ය තොගයේ විථි වටිනාකම රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 13කට අධික වන අතර අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන්,නීති විරෝධී මත් ද්රව්ය,මුදල් සහ මෝටර් රථය ඉදිරි විමර්ශණ සහ නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා ආරච්චිකට්ටුව පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත භාර දීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
