Based on intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a special search operation was conducted at Kekanadura, Matara area in coordination with officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau, Kotawila and arrested a suspect in possession of 500 foreign cigarettes on 20th, April 2026.
The arrested person, along with the seized cigarettes, was handed over to the Gandara Police Station for onward legal action.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව කොටවිල පොලිස් මත්ද්රව්ය නාශක කාර්යංශයේ නිලධාරීන් හා එක්ව 2026 අප්රේල් මස 20 වන දින මාතර, කැකනදුර ප්රදේශයේ සිදුකල විශේෂ මෙහෙයුමක් මඟින් නීතිවිරෝධී ලෙස අලවි කිරීම සඳහා සූදානම්කර තිබූ විදේශීය දුම්වැටි 500ක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
මෙම අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරු සහ දුම්වැටි තොගය ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා ගන්දර පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත භාර දීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
