Based on intelligence received, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted a special operation in the Yodakandiya area in Thissamaharama, in coordination with Kirinda Police. During the operation, two (02) persons were arrested in possession of a live hand grenade, over 3 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice), and 4 kg 650 g of copper wires on 22nd April 2026.
Further, during a joint operation conducted on the same day in the Thoduwawa area of Chilaw, in coordination with the Sri Lanka Navy, the Coast Guard apprehended 2,000 liters of goda, along with 19 barrels and related accessories.
The arrested persons, along with the seized items, were handed over to the Thissamaharama and Chilaw Police, respectively, for further investigations and legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද තොරතුරකට අනුව, කිරින්ද පොලීසිය සමඟ එක්ව 2026 අප්රේල් මස 22 වන දින තිස්සමහාරාමය යෝධකණ්ඩිය ප්රදේශයේ සිදුකළ විශේෂ මෙහෙයුමක් මඟින් විදේශීය රටක නිෂ්පාදිත ජීව අත්බෝම්බයක්, “අයිස්” ලෙස හඳුන්වන මත්ද්රව්ය ග්රෑම් 03කට අධික ප්රමාණයක් සහ තඹ කම්බි කිලෝග්රෑම් 4 ග්රෑම් 650ක ප්රමාණයක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට හැකි විය.
එමෙන්ම, එදිනම ශ්රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදාව සමඟ එක්ව හලාවත තොඩුවාව ප්රදේශයේ සිදුකළ තවත් විශේෂ මෙහෙයුමකදී දේශීය මත්පැන් නිෂ්පාදනය සඳහා යොදාගනු ලබන ගෝඩා ලීටර් 2000ක්, බැරල් 19ක් ඇතුළු මත්පැන් නිෂ්පාදනයට භාවිතා කරන උපකරණ රැසක් ද අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කරන ලදී.
මෙම මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන්, ජීව අත්බෝම්බය, නීති විරෝධී මත්ද්රව්ය සහ තඹ කම්බි තොගය තිස්සමහාරාම පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙතත්, ගෝඩා ලීටර් 2000 සමඟ අනෙකුත් උපකරණ හලාවත පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙතත් ඉදිරි විමර්ශන හා නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා භාරදීමට කටයුතු කරන ලදී.
