Based on intelligence received by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a special search operation was conducted at Beruwala fishery harbour, in coordination with the Beruwala police, the Coast Guard arrested two (02) suspects along with 08.78 g of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE), nine thousand seven hundred Sri Lankan Rupees (Rs.9,700.00) and a motor bike on 12th May 2026.
In another operation conducted on the same day at Matara area in coordination with officers of the Police Narcotic Bureau, arrested two (02) suspects along with 01. 01g of Heroin, 850 mg of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE) and a three wheeler.
Arrested suspects, along with the items, were handed over to the Beruwala and Kotawila Police Stations respectively for further legal action.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට ලද බුද්ධි තොරතුකට අනුව බේරුවල පොලිස් ස්ථානයේ නිලධාරීන් හා එක්ව 2026 මැයි මස 12 වන දින බේරුවල ධීවර වරාය ආශ්රිතව සිදු කල විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදී අයිස් මත්ද්රව්ය ග්රෑම් 08 යි මිලි ග්රෑම් 78ක්, රුපියල් නවදහස් හත්සියයක් (රු. 9,700.00) වටිනා මුදල් නෝට්ටු සහ යතුරු පැදියක් සමඟ සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
එමෙන්ම, එදිනම මාතර පොලිස් මත්ද්රව්ය නාශක කාර්යංශයේ නිලධාරීන් හා එක්ව මාතර ප්රදේශයේ සිදුකල විශේෂ ඒකාබද්ධ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදි හෙරොයින් ග්රෑම් 01යි මිලි ග්රෑම් 01ක්, අයිස් මත්ද්රව්ය මිලි ග්රෑම් 850 ක් සහ ත්රීරෝද රථයක් සමඟ තවත් සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
තවද, මෙම මෙහෙයුම් මඟින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද සැකකරුවන්, යතුරු පැදිය සහ මත් ද්රව්ය ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා බේරුවල සහ කොටවිල පොලිස් ස්ථානයන් වෙත භාර දීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
