Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel, in coordination with officers of the Excise Department, Biyagama, arrested two(02) persons along with liquor bottles and beer cans during a special search operation conducted at Ulhitiyawa and Dankotuwa on the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, 30th May 2026.
The suspects were found in possession of 15 bottles of locally manufactured arrack and 24 cans of beer, which were intended for sale.
The arrested suspects, together with the seized liquor, were handed over to the Excise Department Office, Biyagama, for legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, බියගම සුරාබදු දෙපාර්තමේන්තු කාර්යාලයේ නිලධාරීන් හා එක්ව 2026 මැයි මස 30 වන දිනට යෙදුණු පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයේ උල්හිටියාව හා දන්කොටුව යන ප්රදේශවල සිදුකල විශේෂ ඒකාබද්ධ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුම් වලදී අවන්හලක් සහ නිවසක් තුල සූක්ෂම ලෙස සඟවා අලෙවිකිරීම සඳහා සූදානම්කර තිබූ දේශීය නිශ්පාදිත අරක්කු බොතල් 15ක් සහ බියර් ටින් 24ක් සමඟ පුද්ගලයන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
මෙම මෙහෙයුම මඟින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද සැකකරුවන් සහ මත්පැන් ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා බියගම සුරාබදු දෙපාර්තමේන්තු කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
