Two (02) persons were arrested along with over 220kg of illegal shark fish (Alopias vulpinus) and a hand tractor by the Coast Guard personnel while attempting to transport at Negombo today (06th June 2026).
The suspects along with the seized shark fish and hand tractor were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector’s office in Negombo for legal proceedings.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් අද (2026 ජුනි මස 06) දින උදෑසන මීගමුව ප්රදේශයේ සිදුකරන ලද විශේෂ පරීක්ෂාවකදී දඩයම් කිරීම සඳහා නීතියෙන් තහනම් කරන ලද මෝර මසුන් (Alopias vulpinus) කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 220 කට අධික තොගයක් අත්ට්රැක්ටරයක් ආධාරයෙන් ප්රවාහනය කරමින් සිටි පුද්ගලයන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02) වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
ඒ අනුව, අත් අඩංගුවට ගත් ධීවරයන් දෙදෙනා, මෝර මත්ස්ය තොගය සහ අත්ට්රැක්ටරය ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා මීගමුව ධීවර පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලය වෙත භාර දීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
