The Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted a lifesaving course for Sri Lanka Ocean University students from 21st May to 05th June 2026.
The programme was held at the Ocean University, Galle regional center, and Richmond college, Galle with the participation of 27 students. During the course, lectures and practicle lifesaving sessions were conducted focusing particularly on water safety, drowning prevention methods, identification of water related hazards, techniques for rapid water entry during emergencies, first aid and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
This initiative was aimed at enhancing University students knowledge and skills related to mainly on water safety aspects and first aid.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සාගර විශ්වවිද්යාල සිසුන් සඳහා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක පුහුණූ පාඨමාලාවක් 2026 මැයි මස 21 වන දින සිට ජුනි මස 05 වන දින දක්වා සාගර විශ්වවිද්යාලය, ගාල්ල ප්රාදේශීය මධ්යස්ථානය සහ ගාල්ල රිච්මන්ඩ් විද්යාලය කේන්ද්ර කරගනිමින් පැවැත්වීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
එමෙන්ම, මෙහිදි දියේ ගිලීමෙන් අනතුරට පත් වීමට යාමේදී ජීවිතය බේරා ගන්නා ආකාරය සහ අනතුරට පත් පුද්ගලයන් සඳහා ප්රථමාධාර ලබා දීම, අනතුරකදී ක්ෂණිකව ජලයට අවතීරණය වන ක්රමවේද, ජල අනතුරකට පත් පුද්ගලයෙකු බේරාගැනීමේ ජීවිතාරක්ෂක ක්රමවේද, හෘද පුප්පුෂීය ප්රතිස්ථාපනය පිළිබඳ න්යායාත්මක මෙන්ම ප්රායෝගික පුහුණුව ලබා දිමට කටයුතු කරන ලදි.
තවද, මෙම පුහුණු පාඨමාලාව සඳහා සාගර විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ සිසු සිසුවියන් 27 දෙනෙකු සහභාගීවිය.
