A specialized training programme on the Maritime Security Hotline 106, introduced under the Disi Rela Programme jointly implemented by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard and the Australian Border Force, was held at the Coast Guard Headquarters for Operations Room Operators on 15th and 16th June 2026.
The programme was conducted with the participation of officials from the Australia’s National Security Hotline aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and competencies of operators in managing information received through the Maritime Security Hotline 106. The training focused on the accurate collection of information, efficient processing of reports, and the timely dissemination of critical maritime security information to relevant stakeholders, thereby strengthening effective communication and coordination in maritime emergency response.
The training programme was conducted by Ms. Kristy Hobbs, Senior Manager of Australia's National Security Hotline. Inspector Paul Edwards, the First Secretary at the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka was also present during the training session.
ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව හා ඕස්ට්රේලියානු දේශසීමා බලකාය එක්ව ක්රියාත්මක කරනු ලබන දිසි රැළ වැඩසටහන යටතේ හඳුන්වා දී ඇති සමුද්රීය ආරක්ෂක හදිසි දුරකථන අංක 106 සේවාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ මෙහෙයුම් මැදිරි ක්රියාකරුවන් සඳහා විශේෂ පුහුණු වැඩසටහනක් 2026 ජූනි මස 15 සහ 16 යන දෙදින තුළ වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තු මූලස්ථානයේදී පැවැත්විණි. මෙම පුහුණු වැඩසටහන ඕස්ට්රේලියානු දේශසීමා බලකායේ නිලධාරීන්ගේ මඟපෙන්වීම සහ දායකත්වය යටතේ සිදු කෙරිණි.
තවද, මෙම වැඩසටහනේ ප්රධාන අරමුණ වූයේ සමුද්රීය ආරක්ෂක හදිසි දුරකථන අංක 106 ඔස්සේ ලැබෙන තොරතුරු නිවැරදිව ලබා ගැනීම, ඒවා කාර්යක්ෂමව සැකසීම සහ වැදගත් සමුද්රීය ආරක්ෂක තොරතුරු කඩිනමින් අදාළ පාර්ශ්වයන් වෙත යොමු කිරීම තුළින් ඵලදායී සන්නිවේදනයක් පවත්වාගෙන යාම සඳහා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ මෙහෙයුම් මැදිරි නිලධාරීන්ගේ වෘත්තීය දැනුම, කුසලතා හා හැකියාවන් තවදුරටත් වර්ධනය කිරීමයි.
මෙම පුහුණු සැසිය සඳහා සම්පත් දායකත්වය ඕස්ට්රේලියාවේ ජාතික ආරක්ෂක හදිසි දුරකථන සේවයේ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ කළමනාකාරිණි (Senior Manager of Australia's National Security Hotline) Kristy Hobbs මහත්මිය සහ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඕස්ට්රේලියානු මහ කොමසාරිස් කාර්යාලයේ First Secretary, Inspector Paul Edwards මහතා විසින් ලබාදුන් අතර, හදිසි ඇමතුම් කළමනාකරණය, බුද්ධි තොරතුරු වාර්තාකරණය සහ ජාතික ආරක්ෂක සන්නිවේදනය පිළිබඳ ඔවුන් සතු පුළුල් දැනුම හා අත්දැකීම් සහභාගී වූවන් සමඟ බෙදාගනු ලැබීය.
