SRI LANKA COAST GUARD CONTRIBUTES TO THE NATIONAL DENGUE PREVENTION PROGRAMME
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel actively participated in a number of National Dengue Prevention Programmes to control the spread of dengue covering coastal areas in several districts under the directives of the Ministry of Defence.
The above Dengue Prevention Programmes were carried out by Coast Guard personnel attached to the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Regions, as well as Coast Guard ships and craft.
The programmes included the identification and destruction of potential mosquito breeding sites, removal and disposal of discarded materials capable of collecting stagnant water, cleaning and restoration of blocked drainage systems.

ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඩෙංගු ව්යාප්තිය වැලැක්විම උදෙසා රජය විසින් ක්රියාත්මක කරන ලද වැඩසටහන් සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ දායකත්වය ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කරන ලදි. ඒ අනුව 2026 ජුනි මස 01 වන දින සිට දිවයින වටා ප්රදේශයන් ආවරණය වන පරිදි මෙම වැඩසටන් මාලාව ක්රියාත්මක කිරිමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
එමෙන්ම, මෙහිදී වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ උතුර, නැගෙනහිර, දකුණ සහ බටහිර ප්රාදේශිකයන් සහ වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක නෞකාවන්ට අනුයුක්ත වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක පුද්ගලයින් විසින් මෙම වැඩසටහන් මාලාව ක්රියාත්මක කරන ලදි.
මෙහිදී ඩෙංගු රෝගය ව්යාප්ත කරන මදුරුවන් බෝවිය හැකි ස්ථාන හඳුනාගෙන විනාශ කිරීම, ජලය එකතු විය හැකි ඉවතලන ද්රව්ය එක්රැස් කර විනාශ කර දැමීම, ප්රදේශයේ අවහිර වී ඇති කාණු පද්ධති පිරිසිඳු කිරීම ආදී වැඩසටහන් රැසක් ක්රියාත්මක කරන ලදි.
