SRI LANKA COAST GUARD EMPOWERS BALAPITIYA YOUTH THROUGH LIFESAVING TRAINING

The lifesaving training programme commenced for youth in the Balapitiya area on 20^th September 2026, was successfully completed at the Lifesaving Training School (LSTS), Balapitiya, on 26^th September 2026.

Out of the 28 youth who joined the programme, 20 successfully completed the training and received their certificates at the certificate awarding ceremony held on 26^th September 2026.

The ceremony was attended by Hon. Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Mr. Rathna Gamage, Hon. Member of Parliament (Mrs.) Hasara Gammana Liyanage, Chairman of the Balapitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Mr. Mahawali Anuruddha and its members, as well as parents and well-wishers of the trainees.

The Director General, Deputy Director General and officers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, including the Officer-in-Charge of the Balapitiya Lifesaving Training School, also attended the ceremony.
