COAST GUARD CONTRIBUTES TO THE DENGUE PREVENTION PROGRAMME
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard participated in a special dengue prevention programme organized under the direction of the Tissamaharama Medical Officer of Health in Tissamaharama on 27th September 2026, to strengthen government efforts to prevent the spread of dengue.
With assistance from employees of the Tissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha, Coast Guard personnel cleared the blocked drainage systems along the Kirinda–Tissa main road. A public awareness programme was also conducted to educate residents regarding dengue preventing measures.

ඩෙංගු ව්යාප්තිය වැළැක්විම උදෙසා රජය විසින් ක්රියාත්මක කරන ලද වැඩසටහන් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමේ අරමුණින් තිස්සමහාරාම සෞඛ්ය වෛද්ය නිලධාරීතුමන් සංවිධානයෙන් ඩෙංගු මදුරුවන් බෝවිය හැකි ස්ථාන ඉලක්ක කර ගනිමින් 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 27 වන දින ක්රියාත්මක කරන ලද විශේෂ ඩෙංගු මර්ධන වැඩ සටහන සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකා වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව දායකත්වය ලබා දෙන ලදි.
මෙහිදී තිස්සමහාරාම ප්රාදේශිය සභාවේ සේවක මහතුන්ගේ සහය ඇතැතිව වෙරළ ආරක්ෂක පුද්ගලයින් කිරින්ද තිස්ස ප්රධාන මාර්ගය අවහිර වී ඇති කාණු පද්ධතිය පිරිසිඳු කිරීම සහ ඩෙංගු මර්ධනය පිළිබඳව ප්රදේශ වාසීන් දැනුවත් කිරීම සිදු කරන ලදි.
