Australian Border Force and Sri Lanka Coast Guard Forge Stronger Maritime Safety and Security Partnership
Senior officials from the Australian Border Force and the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) convened at the Coast Guard Rear Headquarters in Colombo on 11th July 2023 to foster enhanced cooperation in maritime safety and security.
LIFEGUARDS OF SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED INDIAN NATIONAL FROM DROWNING
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifeguards stationed at the Mirissa lifesaving post successfully rescued a 36-year-old Indian national who was drowning while bathing in the sea on 10th July 2023. After providing immediate assistance and stabilizing his condition, the lifeguards were able to restore the individual to a normal state of health.
SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING
On 09th July 2023, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers stationed at the Mt Lavinia Lifesaving Station demonstrated their exceptional skills by successfully rescuing three local males, aged 18 to 20, who were involved in a drowning incident in the Mt-Lavinia Sea. Rescued persons were safely handed over to relations after completion of first aid.
SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING
On 08th July 2023, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers stationed at Mt Lavinia Lifesaving post successfully rescued four local males, aged between 15 to 17 years, during a drowning incident at Mt-Lavinia Sea. Despite the challenging conditions caused by heavy currents, the highly skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers promptly responded and managed to save these individuals.
