COAST GUARD RELEASED NEWLY HATCHED TURTLES INTO THE SEA
The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) released 35 numbers of newly hatched sea turtles into the sea from Mirissa Beach on 27th June 2023. These turtles are released to the sea where retrieved eggs are conserved near lifesaving posts close to the natural habitat of the turtles.

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Posts Mirissa and Gopalapuram public beaches saved two locals and two foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 21st June 2023.
COAST GUARD RELEASED NEWLY HATCHED TURTLES INTO THE SEA
SLCG has released 429 numbers of newly hatched sea turtles into the sea from Mirissa, beach during the period from 12 -18 June 2023. These turtles are released to the sea where retrieved eggs are conserved near lifesaving posts close to the turtles’ natural habitat.
