BABY TURTLE RELEASED FROM SRI LANKA COAST GUARD HATCHERIES
Three Hundred and thirteen (313) turtle hatchlings came out from 402 turtle eggs which were conserved in different locations of the country under the Coast Guard Turtle Conservation Project (CGTCP). They were released safely into the sea during the past few days and this rare incidents were witnessed by many foreigners and civilians in the area.

Australian border forced (ABF) Superintendent (Ms.) Joanne Prior of Australian High Commission in India was made a short visit to Sri Lanka yesterday and despite her busy schedule, she was pleased to meet Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard (DG SLCG) at Coast Guard rear headquarters at Wellawatta on 31st Mar 2022.
A visiting two member delegation of the New Zealand custom and New Zealand police paid a courtesy call to the Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard (DG SLCG) and the delegation was headed by the New Zealand High Commissioner in Sri Lanka and the Deputy Commissioner.
COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER DROWNING AT MIRISSA BEACH
The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mirissa rescued a 20 years old Indian female during a successful rescue attempt on 01st April 2022. She was rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa Beach.
SRI LANKA COAST GUARD APPREHENDED A FISHING VESSEL WITH ILLEGALLY HARVESTED PROHIBITED SHARK PARTS
Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed in Dikovita Fishery Harbor for fishery monitoring and regulating duties apprehended a Multiday Fishing Vessel along with six fishermen in possession of illegally harvested prohibited Shark fins and dried Sharks fish on 31 March 2022 during on arrival searching formalities.
SLCG SEIZES A HAUL OF 66.6 KG KERALA CANNABIS IN NORTHERN WATERS
Sri Lanka Coast Guard Fast Patrol Boat CG 409 commanded by Lieutenant KRP Kaluaggala OCG 0578, while engaged in patrolling in the Northern Sri Lankan seas today, 31st March 2022, seized 66.6 kg of Kerala cannabis.

United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) sponsored Vessel Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) Instructor training programme, VBSS Boarding Team course and Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) courses were successfully completed on 25th March 2022.
