Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Negombo Fishery Harbour for fishery monitoring and regulating duties apprehended a Multiday Fishing Vessel along with five fishermen in possession of illegally harvested prohibited Shark Meat on 28th January 2022.

COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER AND FOUR LOCALS AT RISK OF DROWNING
Lifesavers attached to the Coast Guard LifeSaving Posts, Hikkaduwa, Panadura, Gopalpuram, Trincomalee beach had rescued a Russian national and four locals during four successful rescue attempts on 17th January 2022.
Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) personnel deployed in Kirinda coastal area for fishery monitoring and regulating duties had located a suspect inside fishery harbour premises and subsequent search discovered 115 mg of heroin in his possession. Arrested person with apprehended heroin handed over to Kirinda police station for legal action.
ILLEGALLY HARVESTED SHARKS’ FINS APPREHENDED - BERUWALA
Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) personnel deployed in Beruwala Fishery Harbour for fishery monitoring and regulating duties, have arrested five fishermen possessed with 1250 grams of dried sharks’ fins on board multiday fishing vessel “Senpathi 01” on 13th January 2022.
