SLCG ARRESTED FIVE FISHERMEN ENGAGING IN ILLEGAL FISHING PRACTICES
Sri Lanka Coast Guard patrol craft deployed off the Trincomalee area on routine patrol arrested / apprehended five fishermen along with 60 Kg of illegal fish catch and FGD whilst engaging in illegal fishing on 04th November 2022.

SLCG JOINED HANDS WITH THE WORLD RESTART A HEART (WRAH) CAMPAIGN 2022
The College of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka (COAISL) invited the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) to participate in the 2022 Restart a Heart Campaign and both institutes could organize training activities pertaining to the campaign.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Coast Guard Station Kirinda conducted a special patrol to arrest fishermen engage in illegal fishing activities in the seas off Amaduwa to Godawaya in coordination with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources on 31st October 2022.
Coast Guard personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station Beruwala arrested a person in possession of Kerala Cannabis onboard a Fishing Vessel at the Beruwala Fishery Harbour on 31st October 2022.
The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mt Lavinia beach saved two males during a successful rescue attempt on 30th October 2022.
COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING
The Lifesavers attached to Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa rescued two foreigners, during a successful rescue attempt on 29th October 2022. 23 years old male and 20 years old lady from Russia were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach.
REAR ADMIRAL PUJITHA VITHANA ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD
Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana has been appointed as the 7th Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard with effect from 17th October 2022 and assumes duties in his office on 29th October 2022 during a formal ceremony held at the Coast Guard Headquarters, Mirissa.
CONCLUSION OF THE FIRST-EVER SLCG ADVANCED VESSEL BOARD SEARCH AND SEIZER COURSE (VBSS) AT ATC KIRINDA-2022
The SLCG Advanced Training Centre (ATC) - Kirinda has concluded the first-ever Advanced Vessel Board Search and Seize Course with the partnership of UNODC. This in-person program was conducted for a total of 18 personnel including 06 SLCG personnel, 02 SLN personnel including 01 lady officer, 02 Timor-Leste women sailors and 06 Timor-Leste Navy personnel at Kirinda
