COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS DROWNING AT HIKKADUWA BEACH
The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued two Rusian female (64 & 57 years old) during a successful rescue attempt on 24th March 2022. They were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa Beach.

SRI LANKA COAST GUARD APPREHENDED A FISHING VESSEL WITH ILLEGALLY HARVESTED SHARKS AND SHARK FINS
Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Dikovta Fishery Harbour for fishery monitoring and regulating duties apprehended a Multiday Fishing Vessel along with eight fishermen in possession of illegally harvested Oceanic ‘Whitetip’ Sharks, Silky sharks, Shark fins and dried Shark fins on 16th March 2022.
