SRI LANKA COAST GUARD SEIZED ILLEGALLY HARVESTED THRESHER SHARK

On the early morning of 23^rd July 2024, a significant illegal fishing bust took place at the Negombo harbour wet market. Acting on intelligence received, Coast Guard personnel attached to Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Negombo in conjunction with Naval intelligence staff from SLNS Kelani apprehended an individual in possession of a substantial quantity of Thresher Shark meat.
