A joint lifesaving training course was conducted to improve interoperability among service personnel to act in collaboration for ensuring water safety and drowning prevention in the country. The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued three Russian nationals, during a successful rescue attempt on 12th April 2022. A 39 years old male, 37 years old lady and 13 years old boy were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

Three Hundred and thirteen (313) turtle hatchlings came out from 402 turtle eggs which were conserved in different locations of the country under the Coast Guard Turtle Conservation Project (CGTCP).
