SLCGS SURAKSHA LEFT COLOMBO FOR EXERCISE “ DOSTI – XV ”

Sri Lanka Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), SLCGS ‘Suraksha’ sailed today (18th November 2021) for Maldives to participate 15th Edition of Trilateral Coast Guard Joint Exercise ‘DOSTI’ which is planned to be held in the seas off Male from 20th to 24th November 2021. The inaugural ceremony of the Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) Course was held on 08th November 2021, at Weligambay Villas Resort, Mirissa. Eight officers representing Bangladesh Coast Guard and eight participants from Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) have joined the training program in order to qualify as competent VBSS members. This training is considered as a great opportunity for participants to uplift the skills related to VBSS operations.
